The trained volunteers of the UC Master Gardeners program extend the ability of local Cooperative Extension offices to provide practical scientific horticulture and gardening information to the citizens of California.The U.C. Monterey Bay Master Gardener program provides public "gardening" education, problem solving, and many community outreach activities. Master Gardener Volunteers take an intensive training program in all aspects of gardening,then give their time teaching others, especially in low-income areas. Master Gardeners offer workshops at community gardens, youth gardens, homeless shelter gardens, answer questions on our telephone "hotline", and much more.
